Are You Sure You Don't Want a Drink?

I went out to dinner with a friend who is a recovering alcoholic. We sat down and the waiter brought us the drink menu, we kindly requested water instead. When our waiter came back to take our order he offered us wine or beer with our meal, we declined, again. Then after our meal the waiter asked us what we were going to do with the rest of the evening, when we responded he gave us a little laugh and said, "Are you sure you don't need a shot?"

Now, that was no stretch. We were offered an alcoholic beverage three times. As a recovering Alcoholic, he was tempted three times in one hour. Now, this is an extreme case, I hope. But it got us talking about the pressure on waiters and waitresses have to sell alcohol to boost the total check to, in turn, boost the tip.

Think about it, relapse is apart of recovery, but do we need to be rubbing relapse in the face of people in recovery? Please respond in the comments below.
